Te Hou is a high performing dairy unit, and the successful candidate must have 7 years in the dairy industry with 2 of these years in a previous large scale 2IC or management role. Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will support the daily operations of a large-scale, high-performing dairy unit, while building the knowledge and experience required to fulfil this position. This is a hands-on role where you will gain exposure to all aspects of dairy management, including stock performance, animal health, pasture and feed systems, and irrigation. We require a 2IC to assist with the day to day running of our 900 cow Spring calving dairy farm 12 minutes out of Bulls Manawatu. We have a great team and we are looking for the right person who will fit in as team culture is really important to us. The successful applicant must be honest, reliable, enthusiastic, motivated and positive. The successful applicant must have excellent communication skill, a minimum of 3 years dairy farming experience, must be confident in the dairy shed, with operating machinery and have basic pasture management skills. Qualifications would be an advantage but full training will be provided. Duties and responsibilities include: milking, animal health, feeding out, calving, mating and general farm maintenance.
