About us and our farm… We our a couple who have in the dairy industry for the past 10 years, we share milk our beautiful 500 kiwi cross breed cows on a 190ha farm, through a 55 bail rotary shed, equipped with a Protrack drafting system, automatic teat sprayer, automatic cup removers, and auto wash system. We are also putting halter on for our next season which we are really excited about! We milk our cows OAD year round.(Cups on is 6am)We encourage a good work to life balance and care about our staff’s wellbeing. We are looking for a farm manager or a 2ic with experience that wants to grow into a management role. The farm owners live on farm and are hands on for now so there is a lot of support around to help you progress to your next step. We are a growing business so there is potential for contract milking/sharemilking positions in the future for the right people. We calve around 480 cows and milk them through a 40 a side herringbone with cup removers, auto teat spray, inshed feeding, protrac and alflex collars. We are fully irrigated with pivot, fixed grid and a small bit of kline which is getting converted to fixed grid hopefully before next season. Effluent is spread through the pivot. We are on track to do 580kgms/cow and 2250kgms/ha with 1700kg supplement bought onto the farm. As a very high producing unit our attention to detail is key in all aspects of the business so would suit someone who is always striving for better. We are in Enfield which is a great location with the fort enfield tavern/cafe only 2min away, Weston which has a school foursquare etc 10min away and Oamaru being 15min.
