We are seeking an experienced, honest, reliable, and trustworthy Assist Manager/2IC to join our team. The successful applicant will work closely with the owner and an existing team member. As 2IC, you will be involved in all aspects of the dairy operation, including but not limited to: - Milking and shed hygiene management - Monitoring, reporting, and assisting with animal health - Feeding out - General farm maintenance - Assisting with calving and mating To be successful in this role, you will: - Work well within a team environment - Have a minimum of 2 years’ dairy farming experience - Have experience operating tractors on a dairy farm platform - Be confident riding both 2-wheel and 4-wheel motorbikes Please note: No overseas applicants need apply. We are looking for a "3IC" here on our 700 cow farm in the Wairarapa. This position would suit an experienced farm assistant or someone with 2 years NZ dairy farming experience with the potential to move up to a 2IC role next season. We are looking for someone who is an experienced milker with the ability to detect mastitis, illness & lame cows, is calm and quiet in the shed & with our ladies, be able to clearly follow set pasture management plans and put up correct break sizes and be capable of loading up accurate amounts of silage & maize and competently feed out on the feedpad and in the paddocks. We do a lot of fencing and farm R & M and other tractor work so experience in these areas would be awesome. We offer a great salary and roster that gives a good work life balance.
