The farm’s irrigated, well set up, and has good gear and machinery to work with. 10mins from Featherston, Martinborough and Greytown. You’ll get stuck into a bit of everything — milking, feeding out, shifting stock, animal health, tractor work and general day to day farm jobs. You’ll be working alongside the owner, so good communication, honesty and a decent attitude go a long way. Comes with a tidy 3-bedroom house with a fire and heat pump. Would suit someone who enjoys farming, can work unsupervised when needed, but also likes a laugh and being part of a good crew. Experience is handy. Castlecor Farm is located in Meath, Central Ireland, and is operating under a farm partnership. Running 450 Spring Calving LIC X-Breed Cows on a New Zealand Pasture-based system 2 type system. We're looking for someone for a 2IC assistant manager role due to our current 2IC progressing to a management role in the industry, after over two year with us. Start date negotiable anytime between July and November. This is a permanent position with your own accommodation provided on-farm. Your position will consist of helping the herd owner/ farm manager operate the farm on day to day basis and leading the operation of the farm when the manager isn’t present. Your main roles would include, but are not limited to; - Assisting the farm manager in the general day-to-day operation of the farm, including: - Grass management, allocating feed and setting up breaks. - Herd health and general animal care. - Caring out the day to day operation of the farm when the manager is away. - Milking - Tractor work and feeding out - Breaks and break feeding - General maintenance and spraying - Some young stock work on heifer grazing farm - General treatment and animal husbandry of cows and calve in spring. Pay is negotiable depending on experience, ability and attitude. We are looking for a "3IC" here on our 700 cow farm in the Wairarapa. This position would suit an experienced farm assistant or someone with 2 years NZ dairy farming experience with the potential to move up to a 2IC role next season. We are looking for someone who is an experienced milker with the ability to detect mastitis, illness & lame cows, is calm and quiet in the shed & with our ladies, be able to clearly follow set pasture management plans and put up correct break sizes and be capable of loading up accurate amounts of silage & maize and competently feed out on the feedpad and in the paddocks. We do a lot of fencing and farm R & M and other tractor work so experience in these areas would be awesome. We offer a great salary and roster that gives a good work life balance.
