We are seeking a reliable Dairy Farm Assistant for our Dannevirke-based dairy farm, starting March 2026, milking approximately 300 cows through a 24-aside herringbone shed with ACR's. You will be working alongside a contract milker and the farm owner, assisting with day-to-day farm operations. Independent on-farm accommodation provided. The ideal applicant will: - Be able to solo milk (preferred) - Have basic tractor experience (preferred) - Be reliable, motivated, and willing to learn - Currently live and able to work in NZ. Hawkes Bay Pastural is looking for an experienced dairy assistant to join our team and support the manager to achieve targets, build a great team and aim for record results. Lots of variety in your daily jobs and plenty of sleep ins to be shared around the staff. Hawkes Bay Pastural Ltd, A 642 Ha property, the largest Farm within the T H Enterprises Ltd Group of farms, situated in the Central Hawkes Bay District at Ashley Clinton. This farm has 400 ha of milking area, 90 ha are used for young stock grazing and balance is support runoff land. There is 110ha lease block 7km up the road where we winter cows and cut silage for the remainder of the year. This property milks 1500 cows through an 80 Bail rotary, Dairy shed with Protrack system and cup removers. In total there is 752ha involved to run this operation. Farm Manager employs a team of seven. This property has seven staff houses. The farm runs on an 8 days on / 2 days off roster. Average hours of 55 hours worked per week. The successful applicant must pass a pre-employment drug test. We are looking for a farm assistant to assist us with the day to day running of our farm in Patoka, Napier. We are looking for a happy, mature, tidy, motivated, independent and hardworking farmer and someone that can be trusted and with a sense of ownership to the farm. You will be involved in all aspects of farming: Milking and shed hygiene, moving stock, calf rearing, mating, spraying weeds, cropping, tractor operation and a good fencing and chainsaw skills are an advantage. The farms are from flat to rolling contour with some steeper parts so experience riding a 2 and 4 wheeler is beneficial. A good of understanding of technology is an advantage as the farm uses Allflex SenseHub dairy. The shed is a 50 bale rotary with acr, automatic teat spray, in-shed feeding, and a protrack drafting system. The farm is 40 kms away from Hastings and 31kms away from Napier. Kindy and Primary school is 2.6 kms from the Farm and school bus pick up at the gate. We run a simple system that is effective and efficient that benefits everybody. The Farm is a DRUG FREE zone.
