Erindale Farms 2023 Limited is operating a multi farm business. James and Aleisha own a 300 cow farm and sharemilk another 300 cow farm 3km up the road. The farms are run separately but at times we work together and share equipment. The current vacancy is on our Home Farm which is 300 cows on 107ha, located 10 mins to Morrinsville with a brand new 30 a side cowshed and tidy housing. We run a simple pasture based system and rear 70 replacement calves on farm until 1st May. Our goal is to be leading farmers so we all work hard and achieve high standards. We are seeking a motivated and capable Junior 2IC to join our team on a 420-cow dairy operation in the Matamata / Hinuera area. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid ambitions who is ready to step up and continue progressing in the dairy industry. We will be first-season owners on this farm following a recent purchase and are building a strong, positive team culture from the ground up. This is not a management role, but a role designed to help someone progress into a 2IC position with some responsibilities. We are a fully autumn calving farm with a mating system that includes Alflex collars and an automated pro-track drafting gate making this busy time of year a breeze. We have a good herringbone shed with automatic cup removers and a feed pad which joins to our yard. All machinery is near new and we pride ourselves on keeping an efficient and well maintained farm. The right candidate will have experience with loading up and feeding out on a feedpad, they will also have a good understanding of pasture management and have the willingness and interest to develop your knowledge on this. We are looking for a drive-in, full time calf rearer, to work alongside a part-timer and the permanent staff. Rearing approximately 80 heifer replacements, with the rest beef calves which will leave the farm at 4-6 days old. Due to the scale of the operation, experience would be preferred. Hours can be negotiated. Pay negotiable depending on experience.
