Grasslands operate dairy farms approximately 20 minutes drive from the Tokoroa township. The farms comprise of 1000 cows and we have a casual relief milking position to cover staff leave etc. The farms have large modern milking facilities with 80 bail rotary platforms and are well equipped for the number of cows milked in them. Milking through a 50bail rotary with inShed feed and ACR'S. Having a partner keen to do Calf rearing and relief milking would be an advantage. **Job Description** Calf Rearer/ Relief Milker Location: Puriri, New Zealand This position is covering a 12 week period starting end of July. Calving roughly 620 cows, and rearing approx 350/400. You will help with, feeding new calves, replacement calves, getting cows and calves in and milking when needed. Other duties include cleaning, feeding, using farm equipment, Identifying and attending to sick calves. Looking for someone reliable, punctual and honest. Experience preferred but not essential, and a good sense of humour is a must. $30 an hour. 5 days on 2 days off. Relief Milker / Fixed-Term Farm Assistant Location: Eltham, Taranaki Please note: This is a DRIVE IN role. Please do not apply if you are requiring accommodation. We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team of three on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave on our dairy farm located just outside Eltham, Taranaki. This is a drive-in, live-out position, working alongside the Contract Milker and 2IC. The farm milks approximately 500 MA cows through a 50-bail rotary with an in-shed feeding system and operates as a System 3 farm. We are a family-run farm and pride ourselves on being supportive employers and forward-thinking in our approach. This is for a 400 cow farm in the Kokatahi area, 30 minutes from Hokitika, milking through a 36 Aside Herringbone shed. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: - Milking twice a day - Shifting cows and feeding - Fencing, weed control - Calving, calf rearing - Shed cleaning and setup - Identifying and alerting managers to sick cows - Setting fences and other general farm duties. Weekly hours are a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 55. Since farm work is dependent on a number of unknown factors like weather and animals, should you work beyond the agreed maximum hours in a fortnightly pay period, you will be paid the agreed overtime hourly rate for each additional hour worked. The schedule may vary; Roster will be 11 days on, 3 days off. Wage is between $23.50 - $29.00 per hour subject to experience. Candidates are required to provide good related references. *PART-TIME FARM WORKER REQUIRED - JULY TO SEPT & MARCH TO MAY* Drive-in position (15 minutes from New Plymouth - farm is by the Airport) 290 cows Split calving - 200 in autumn & 100 in spring System 4 - maize & silage grown on farm, PK bought in Needing someone from July - Sept & March - May (about 6 months of calving but there can potentially be more work throughout the season) 4-5 hours in the morning, wrapping up by 9/9:30am (this is flexible for the right person) Pay is negotiable $25 - $35+ per hour depending on farming experience and distance travelled Opportunity for more hours/relief milking work for the right person! You'll be working alongside me and occasionally my partner will tag along. Both of us are team-players, passionate about the industry and enjoy having a laugh. The ideal person would be someone who's had some experience in the industry, who has moved to town and is looking for a bit of casual farm work without the pressure of decision making. However willing to give the right person a crack as well. Would be ideal if you are competent on farm i.e. around stock, bikes, tractors etc. but training can be provided. Drive in relief milker required, located near Waianiwa (approx. 20mins from Invercargill, 20mins from Winton). Approx. 3-4 Milking’s a week at this stage. Flexible with days/dates. Approx. 280 cows in older 24 aside herringbone shed. Cups on approx. 7AM & 5PM, but flexible. Cows generally close to shed & fences all set up. Must have milking experience and be able to work sole charge. Must be able to ride a quad. Roughly 3hrs in morning & 2 1/2 hours in afternoons.

Relief Milker position available to cover staff time off and our busy periods May/June and Aug- Dec. Small house available on farm, flexible rosters to work around you. 5min to Winton. Must be a New Zealand Citizen.
