**DAIRY FARM ASSISTANT** - **Milking:** Assists in efficient and hygienic milking routine. Follows procedure to produce high quality milk. Carries out simple milk harvesting tasks as directed and is developing correct skills to milk. - **Animals:** Assists in safe handling of animals, reports any health and welfare issues as per farm policy. Assists with moving and handling animals safely, and observes and reports on wellbeing of all classes of stock. - **Feed:** Controls weeds. Sets break fences and feeds out as directed. Assists with pasture and crop weed control and is learning about feed allocations and health issues associated with crops. - **Machine, vehicles and technology:** Safely uses and maintains vehicles on farm as directed by on farm policy. - **People:** Works well with others, building a strong team culture. Is aware of the opportunities available to them in their personal and career goals and is beginning to look for opportunities to move to the next level in their career. - **Health, safety and wellbeing:** Involved in building a health, safety and wellbeing culture. Models' farms H, S & W policy. **Requirements:** - You must have a clear criminal record. - Pre-employment and random drug testing. - You must be drug free. - No pets on farm. - You must live on farm due to the requirements of the job. - No smoking or vaping on farm. **Work Details:** - Minimum 30 hours/week will be provided. - Average Hours Per week: 40. - Roster: Single rotation - 8 Days on / 2 days Off. - Accommodation available: Shared accommodation. - Remuneration: $58,000-$62,000 yearly.

Cowshed is a 30 ASH with full set of ACRs, plus in-shed meal feeding all year round, and Protrack drafting system. Primary and secondary schooling 5 mins away in Otorohanga. We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Farm Manager to lead a team of three staff members. This role requires someone with strong time management skills, excellent attention to detail, and a genuine passion for livestock and farming operations. Our operation is an 800-cow autumn calving farm, equipped with a herd home, mixer wagon, and a 60-bail rotary shed with ACRs and in-shed drafting technology. We operate a 6-on, 2-off roster for six months of the year, and a 9-on, 3-off roster for the remaining six months. Key requirements for this role include: - Strong leadership and team management skills - Competence with farm machinery - Good computer literacy, including the ability to complete fortnightly reports - Experience using Herd Manager (in-shed drafting system) or similar technology You will work closely with the farm owner, who will provide support through regular farm walks and assist with feed budgeting. Brightview Farms are on the lookout for a Block Manager for our beef and Dairy support blocks. Our farming operation is located in Western Southland, with the Dairy and Drystock/Support blocks located within 5 minutes of the Wairio/Nightcaps area. Our newest support farm is Woodstone Farm, an Agri Tourism business located 5 minutes from Te Anau. The operation consists of four support blocks, 10,000 su support farm (600ha of support blocks and are within a 10 minute radius of the dairy farms. The position will involve farm work, tractor work, with modern machinery (cultivation, sowing of crops, grass renewal) and stock work; breeding and fattening calves, heifers, bulls, sheep and winter grazing of dairy cattle. You will need to be confident in driving a tractor with a silage wagon and mower, have at least 5 years experience, understand pasture management, take pride in your work and have good animal health practices. This role will be directly working with the Sharemilker, with opportunities to progress in the future to full management for the right person. Some of the areas you will need to have proven yourself in are: feeding out/tractor driving, motorbike experience and the ability to navigate hilly paddocks, milk harvesting, treating cow health issues, using automatic drafting, setting up paddocks, dealing with calving difficulties and down cows. We have a job for a New Zealand Assistant Farm Manager (2IC) position on a farm in the Bay of Plenty area. This is for a 440 cows farm, 15 minutes from Rotorua, milking through an automatic cup remover rotary shed. You'll have a range of responsibilities including the day-to-day management support including: - Milking - Shed Management - Animal Husbandry and Production - Animal Health Monitoring, Management and Treatment - Pasture and fodder Management - Maintenance of Shed, Equipment and Machinery - Know and meet regulatory rules & requirements - Mating, Calving and Calf rearing Management - and other general farm duties Weekly hours are a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 55 for the salary. Since farm work is dependent on a number of unknown factors like weather and animals, should you work beyond the agreed maximum hours in a fortnightly pay period, you will be paid the agreed overtime hourly rate for any hours beyond the maximum hours. The schedule may vary but generally work hours are between 4am and go through 5pm with meal and rest breaks. Candidates must have previous dairy farming experience and are required to provide good, related references. We are looking for an honest tidy person to manage/work on our 380-fresain cow farm. There is an opportunity for your partner to do the calf rearing in spring 1 to 2 hrs per morning and casual relief milking. The cowshed is a 30ashb shed. The position for manager is fulltime and comes with a tidy 3-to-4-bedroom house; it has a large stand-alone shed/garage and attached carport to the house. Primary and secondary schools are within 5kms. This farm is a grass-based system.
