We are contract milkers and supportive employers who are willing to teach any aspect of our high input system. Chiwi Dairies Ltd is looking for a Herd Manager/experienced farm assistant with at least 2 years of experience in NZ. We milk 580 JFX cows twice a day all year round through a system 5. 40 aside Herringbone shed with ACR's, rubber matting on the feed pad and in the pit. Cow manager monitoring system and Auto drafting gate. We pride ourselves on a high standard of our daily operation with proven performance over the years on a well-maintained farm. We are seeking a motivated and passionate team member to join our team. You must be honest, reliable, passionate, a good communicator, and be able to work alongside us to make sure the farm is running efficiently. The ideal candidate will be willing to further their learning by undergoing AG training, Dairy NZ workshops, and more. You will have good stockmanship skills, be able to identify and treat mastitis, identify lameness, and identify any cows when they are unwell. You will be milking twice a day all year, getting cows in, doing basic maintenance jobs such as weed control, effluent irrigation, feeding out, fencing, etcetera. You must be able to ride farm bikes and tractor experience would be an advantage.
