The farm is all flat with 3 pivot irrigators, a 60 bail rotary one man shed with in shed feeding milk meters, and a feed pad. The farm is run as a system 4 with a runoff to winter the cows on. We're looking for someone for a 2IC assistant manager role due to our current 2IC progressing to a management role in the industry, after over two year with us. Start date negotiable anytime between July and November. This is a permanent position with your own accommodation provided on-farm. Your position will consist of helping the herd owner/ farm manager operate the farm on day to day basis and leading the operation of the farm when the manager isn’t present. Your main roles would include, but are not limited to; - Assisting the farm manager in the general day-to-day operation of the farm, including: - Grass management, allocating feed and setting up breaks. - Herd health and general animal care. - Caring out the day to day operation of the farm when the manager is away. - Milking - Tractor work and feeding out - Breaks and break feeding - General maintenance and spraying - Some young stock work on heifer grazing farm - General treatment and animal husbandry of cows and calve in spring.
