About the Farm: - 560-cow dairy farm - Located 8 minutes north of Milton - Producing high-quality milk with a strong focus on performance and efficiency - Halter system now being integrated into daily operations The Role: The core focus of this role is milking, however there will be additional work available beyond milking, particularly during the spring period, where extra support will be essential. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work and wants to be part of a team aiming to break records and ensure the farm produces the best quality milk day in and day out. We run a 7,2,72,7,3 roster. We are a contract milking couple due to have our second child in April. We are looking to hire a milker to either start next season or early Feb this season but are flexible. Will be 5 days a week doing both am and pm milkings, this will be between 6-8+ hours a day depending on time of the season. We milk 450 cows through a 32ashb with in shed feeding and acrs, will be sole charge except over calving someone will be there to help with heifers and colostrum’s. We will be milking right up till June and will have some work to fill hours over the dry period. Accommodation on farm is a one bedroom tiny home so it is suited for a single or couple, rent is $300 which includes gas and power.

We use a roster system which consists of three staff members currently but are wanting to add a milk harvester into our system too. The successful applicant will be a New Zealand resident, have experience, good communication skills, great time management, show initiative and work well in a team environment.

Capable of noticing basic animal health issues (eg, mastitis, lameness, generally sick looking cows) Good at communicating with team members and the management team.
