The Manager will be responsible for the daily operation of the shed and running of the 600 cow farm. The farm is fully spray irrigated with a 40 ASHB Shed with in-shed feeding and Protrak. It is important that the Manager is able to work with us to meet the farms targets while making sure that it is a positive and enjoyable environment for all staff. You need to have excellent communication skills and be able to lead the team confidently while being an active team member. We are looking for someone that has an eye for detail, proven stockmanship and be able to feed the cows efficiently to get optimal production. Must be able to embrace technology as we have Halter on the milking platform and winter grazing block. It is important that you are able to keep all required records for the farming operation. Due to an internal progression within our business we are looking for our next Farm Manager to run Chertsey Dairies! This is an excellent entry level management position for someone looking to get some experience under their belt before becoming their own boss. Based just 10 minutes from Ashburton, you'll work closely with farm owners Will & Kim Grayling to build on this high performing farms legacy but have enough independence to run the team and day to day operations. You'll also have the benefit of being in the leadership team of our family of farms, with unique opportunities to upskill and potentially progress into your own business ownership model. Our ideal candidate will: - Lead and motivate the team with clear communication to ensure a productive and enjoyable workplace. - Manage the roster, timesheets and assisting with recruitment as required. - Ensure all MINDA records, Resolution recording and stock movement documentation are completed and up to date. - Manage pasture and supplements effectively to maximise production. - Ensure typical farm maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner. - Hold high standards for animal health, and team safety at all times. You'll lead our experienced team of 4 others on farm in the day to day operation of this 1000 cow farm which features: - 50 bail rotary with in shed feeding, automatic cup removers and protrack draughting. - 150ha pivot and 90ha rotorainer irrigation. - Well maintained infrastructure with an in-house Engineer to assist with repairs and maintenance. For your work you'll be paid a salary rate of between $100,000 - 140,000 pa based on experience and ability. On farm in accommodation is available for market rate rent of $300 per week. Must hold full drivers licence and be in NZ currently to be considered.
