We require a farm manager to run day to day operations working with a dairy nutritionist on our 319 ha irrigated dairy farm in South Wairarapa. The farm is all flat with 3 pivot irrigators, a 60 bail rotary one man shed with in shed feeding milk meters, and a feed pad. The farm is run as a system 4 with a runoff to winter the cows on. The opportunity – We are seeking an experienced and motivated Farm Manager to manage 1 of our 12 dairy units. The dairy unit is 226ha with 750 cows milked through a 44 aside Herringbone. The role will require you to lead a team of 4.5 staff encouraging a positive, high-performing culture while driving productivity. This role reports directly to the Operations Manager and you will work closely with them to ensure farms plans and targets are achieved. What you need – To be successful in this role, you will need at least 5 years’ experience. Experience managing staff, excellent animal husbandry, pasture and feed management skills and knowledge, and excellent communication skills both written and oral are essential to this role.
