Calf Rearer Position Available 26/27 Season

Calf Rearer – 2026/2027 Season We’re looking for a reliable and motivated calf rearer for next season, starting around 29 June for approximately 3 months. This role would suit someone with calf rearing experience, however training can be provided for the right person. You’ll need to be confident handling young stock, able to work independently, and happy working outdoors through winter and early spring. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day care of calves. Around 270 calves will go through the sheds over the season, with 60–70 kept as replacements. Being organised, physically fit, and having a good eye for animal health and welfare is important, as you’ll be responsible for the calf shed and routines. We’re open to either one full-time person or two part-time people. Drive-in position. Must be able to drive a Quad bike. The role includes: - Feeding calves (milk, meal, hay and water) - Daily health checks and treating sick calves - Keeping sheds, pens and equipment clean - Recording treatments and working with us and the vet when needed - Maintaining a high standard of animal welfare and hygiene

If you’re confident with stock, enjoy practical farm work such as operating farm equipment, fencing and basic farm maintenance, looking for a long-term role with a variety of work, then this position could suit you. **The role:** This is a permanent, full-time Experienced General Hand role supporting the day-to-day livestock operations and farm maintenance and improvements. Te Kuiti is about 30kms away providing full schooling options and town facilities.

Position involves training new calves and then transitioning them onto the auto feeders. Cleaning and washing down each day. Start 7:30am to approx 10am, varies depending on numbers, and then 2:30 to 5:30ish. Experience preferred but not essential. This is a drive in position. We are 15 minutes from Te Awamutu.
