We are seeking a motivated Assistant Herd Manager to join our dairy operation milking approx 560 cows through 54 bail rotary. You will work alongside one other staff member under the direction of the 50/50 sharemilker, playing a key role in herd health, milk quality and daily operations. Key responsibilities: - Daily milking operations, including plant wash and dairy hygiene - Animal welfare; identify and treat sick animals - Monitor milk quality, mastitis and SCC - Assist with calving, mating and dry-off processes - Mowing/topping paddocks - Other general day-to-day duties eg effluent management, weed control, break fences Experience in the above essential along with the ability to work well with other people and take initiative. Reliability is also a key attribute. Guidance and training will be given. Remuneration based on experience. Farm is predominantly flat in contour. A modern 3bdrm house with garage is available with school bus at end of road for Edendale Primary, Wyndham Primary and Menzies College. Please note we are not an Accredited Employer

We are located between Mandeville and Riversdale 15 minutes from Gore. We calve 650 cows. We aim to rear around 180 replacement heifers, sell 4 day old beefies and bobbies. All milk is pumped to each pen the only handling of buckets is gold colostrum and bobby milk. Great gear and facilities, on average 6 hours per day Drive in position. The farm is located approximately 45 minutes from Gore, milking through two Herringbone sheds.
