Being owner/operators of our beautiful 440 Ha farm in the most stunning setting on the West Coast, gives us the opportunity to work with our employees on not only maintaining and constantly improving how we do things, but to also train, teach and develop our people into the next generation of dairy farmers. To be successful in this role you will have at least 3 years’ experience here in NZ, and have been in a 2IC position for the last year, you will be a hardworking person who is serious about being a dairy farmer, if you are, we will teach you everything you need to know, to get you to the next level, we like to promote from within. You must also possess a strong work ethic, honesty, reliability, strong communication skills, and be a great team player. We consider ourselves to be excellent employers. Modern on farm accommodation is provided and we shall pay a competitive salary which will be negotiated depending on experience but we’re thinking in the range of $75 to $85k per hour including accommodation. We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week. Being only 20 mins to Reefton and 40 to Greymouth there are plenty of schools etc in the area. This is a hands-on role with a bit of everything – full-time calf rearing through spring, plus relief milking and tractor work across the season to cover days off across two farms. We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Farm Manager to lead a team of three staff members. Brightview Farms are on the lookout for a Block Manager for our beef and Dairy support blocks. Our farming operation is located in Western Southland, with the Dairy and Drystock/Support blocks located within 5 minutes of the Wairio/Nightcaps area. Our newest support farm is Woodstone Farm, an Agri Tourism business located 5 minutes from Te Anau. The operation consists of four support blocks, 10,000 su support farm (600ha of support blocks and are within a 10 minute radius of the dairy farms. The position will involve farm work, tractor work, with modern machinery (cultivation, sowing of crops, grass renewal) and stock work; breeding and fattening calves, heifers, bulls, sheep and winter grazing of dairy cattle. You will need to be confident in driving a tractor with a silage wagon and mower, have at least 5 years experience, understand pasture management, take pride in your work and have good animal health practices. This role will be directly working with the Sharemilker, with opportunities to progress in the future to full management for the right person. We are looking for an honest tidy person to manage/work on our 380-fresain cow farm. There is an opportunity for your partner to do the calf rearing in spring 1 to 2 hrs per morning and casual relief milking. The cowshed is a 30ashb shed. The position for manager is fulltime and comes with a tidy 3-to-4-bedroom house; it has a large stand-alone shed/garage and attached carport to the house. Primary and secondary schools are within 5kms. This farm is a grass-based system.
