Erindale Farms 2023 Limited is operating a multi farm business. James and Aleisha own a 300 cow farm and sharemilk another 300 cow farm 3km up the road. The farms are run separately but at times we work together and share equipment. The current vacancy is on our Home Farm which is 300 cows on 107ha, located 10 mins to Morrinsville with a brand new 30 a side cowshed and tidy housing. We run a simple pasture based system and rear 70 replacement calves on farm until 1st May. Our goal is to be leading farmers so we all work hard and achieve high standards. What we are looking for: - Motivated individual that is looking to make a career out of dairy farming, ideally 1-2 years New Zealand based farming experience. - Fluent English speaker as you will be required to run the farm on your own when owners are away. - A quiet achiever who is the type of person to get stuck in and get their jobs done - Someone who can work as part of the wider team as well as milk and carry out daily tasks on their own as required. - Someone who has a great attitude and strives to do their best each day. With support, you will be responsible for managing the daily milking routine, feed budgeting, picking paddocks and other daily operations including; Milking: Sole charge efficient and hygienic milking routine Stock: Safe handling & treatment of stock, reporting health & welfare safety issues, use & maintain vehicles & machinery, Control weeds, carry out farmwalks, pick paddocks, set break fences, feed out grass silage with tractor & wagon, effluent and water management, be part of the Farm Health & Safety culture. Drive in relief milker required, located near Waianiwa (approx. 20mins from Invercargill, 20mins from Winton). Approx. 3-4 Milking’s a week at this stage. Flexible with days/dates. Approx. 280 cows in older 24 aside herringbone shed. Cups on approx. 7AM & 5PM, but flexible. Cows generally close to shed & fences all set up. Must have milking experience and be able to work sole charge. Must be able to ride a quad. Roughly 3hrs in morning & 2 1/2 hours in afternoons.

Relief Milker position available to cover staff time off and our busy periods May/June and Aug- Dec. Small house available on farm, flexible rosters to work around you. 5min to Winton. Must be a New Zealand Citizen.

We have an awesome opportunity for a keen individual to join our team. We will calve 600 cows peak milking around 580 through a tidy and modern 40 aside herringbone. The shed is fitted with Acrs, walkover teatsprayer, Protrack drafting, and has covered side yards for working in all conditions. The farm is Flat to rolling and very tidy. We seek someone who loves working with cows, is willing to progress, strives to work to the best of their ability, and wants to maintain and be proud to work to a high standard. Duties include but are not limited to, Milking, feeding dairy cows and calves, temporary and permanent fencing, spraying, animal health detection and treatment, farm maintenance, plant cleaning, and tractor work. The farm Is located 20 minutes from both Winton and Otautau townships, with Invercargill 40 minutes away. Must be competent riding 2-4 wheel motorbikes or willing to learn. A good standard of housing is provided with the role. Minimum of one year experience dairy farming in New Zealand is preferred, but not necessary as we are seeking the right fit for our team and willing to train and progress the right person.
