About us and our farm… We our a couple who have in the dairy industry for the past 10 years, we share milk our beautiful 500 kiwi cross breed cows on a 190ha farm, through a 55 bail rotary shed, equipped with a Protrack drafting system, automatic teat sprayer, automatic cup removers, and auto wash system. We are also putting halter on for our next season which we are really excited about! We milk our cows OAD year round.(Cups on is 6am)We encourage a good work to life balance and care about our staff’s wellbeing. Relief Milker / Fixed-Term Farm Assistant Location: Eltham, Taranaki Please note: This is a DRIVE IN role. Please do not apply if you are requiring accommodation. We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team of three on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave on our dairy farm located just outside Eltham, Taranaki. This is a drive-in, live-out position, working alongside the Contract Milker and 2IC. The farm milks approximately 500 MA cows through a 50-bail rotary with an in-shed feeding system and operates as a System 3 farm. We are a family-run farm and pride ourselves on being supportive employers and forward-thinking in our approach. The core responsibility of this position is milk harvesting; however, we welcome applicants who can also contribute additional skills and experience to the wider farm operation. Hours & Roster: • Full-time hours over calving (generally a 6-and-1 roster over spring) • Dropping to a minimum of 20 hours per week for the remainder of the season to fill the roster (currently 8-2, 8-3) and to cover staff annual and sick leave. We are seeking an experienced farm worker (2+ years) to work as a Herd Manager on a 1000-cow operation in the Ranfurly area, milking through a 50 Rotary Bale shed. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: - Milking and monitoring milk quality, - Training junior staff, - Stock handling and feeding (feed management), - Fencing, weed control, - Calving, calf rearing, - Shed maintenance & preparation, - Tractor operation for feeding out, baling, mowing and silage monitoring, - Recording and maintaining animal health, - Other general farm duties. Weekly hours are a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 50. Since farm work is dependent on a number of unknown factors like weather and animals, any hours worked beyond the agreed maximum in a fortnightly pay period will be paid at the agreed overtime rate. The schedule may vary; Roster will be 11 days on, 3 days off. Salary is between $80,000 - $88,000 per annum, subject to experience. Candidates must have previous dairy farming experience and are required to provide good related references. Drive in relief milker required, located near Waianiwa (approx. 20mins from Invercargill, 20mins from Winton). Approx. 3-4 Milking’s a week at this stage. Flexible with days/dates. Approx. 280 cows in older 24 aside herringbone shed. Cups on approx. 7AM & 5PM, but flexible. Cows generally close to shed & fences all set up. Must have milking experience and be able to work sole charge. Must be able to ride a quad. Roughly 3hrs in morning & 2 1/2 hours in afternoons.

*PART-TIME FARM WORKER REQUIRED - JULY TO SEPT & MARCH TO MAY* Drive-in position (15 minutes from New Plymouth - farm is by the Airport) 290 cows Split calving - 200 in autumn & 100 in spring System 4 - maize & silage grown on farm, PK bought in Needing someone from July - Sept & March - May (about 6 months of calving but there can potentially be more work throughout the season) 4-5 hours in the morning, wrapping up by 9/9:30am (this is flexible for the right person) Pay is negotiable $25 - $35+ per hour depending on farming experience and distance travelled Opportunity for more hours/relief milking work for the right person! Due to our current Farm management people heading to new opportunities, we are looking for a capable person with experience in the dairy industry to help manage our 1100 cow Dairy Farm at Ngapara North Otago. This position would involve running the day to day system on the dairy farm, grass, cows, staff. 900 cows calved in spring and 200 in autumn. Milk all year round. Strengths needed for this role is a good understanding of pasture management, animal husbandry, staff management, irrigation and an ability to problem solve. A great attitude and good communication is also a must. The role would allow the opportunity for growth and development of your skills, while enhancing the skills you already have. We use a lot of technology to run farm, so need the applicant to have the skills to use it (Allflex collars, Protrack, irrigation technology etc).
