You will have good stockmanship skills, be able to identify and treat mastitis, identify lameness, and identify any cows when they are unwell. You will be milking twice a day all year, getting cows in, doing basic maintenance jobs such as weed control, effluent irrigation, feeding out, fencing, etcetera. You must be able to ride farm bikes and tractor experience would be an advantage. We milk 860 cows through a 44 bale Rotary shed on milking platform of 297 hectares of rolling to steep farmland with 175 hectares of drystock. You must have a minimum of 2 years of dairy farming experience. Your role includes but not limited to: milking, animal health and pasture management, understanding the environment and regulations around effluent, water and nutrients and record keeping. Applicants must be able to operate machinery, tractors, feed-out wagon, both 2 and 4 - wheel bikes and be able to follow on farm safety policies. You must perform good health, safety and wellbeing on farm, record accidents and identify farm hazards and biosecurity issues. You are Guaranteed a minimum of 45 hours/week roster 11 days on and 3 off. Accommodation is available on farm. You must have a full drivers license.
