We are looking for an experienced Herd Manager to join our team based in Mangakino, 50 minutes from Rotorua. A knowledge of organics is preferred though training can be provided. We milk 860 cows through a 44 bale Rotary shed on milking platform of 297 hectares of rolling to steep farmland with 175 hectares of drystock. You must have a minimum of 2 years of dairy farming experience. Your role includes but not limited to: milking, animal health and pasture management, understanding the environment and regulations around effluent, water and nutrients and record keeping. Applicants must be able to operate machinery, tractors, feed-out wagon, both 2 and 4 - wheel bikes and be able to follow on farm safety policies. You must perform good health, safety and wellbeing on farm, record accidents and identify farm hazards and biosecurity issues. You are Guaranteed a minimum of 45 hours/week roster 11 days on and 3 off. Accommodation is available on farm. You must have a full drivers license. Pre employment and random drug testing will be conducted. If employed, you must be drug free, alcohol free and smoke free at all times with in the work area.
